Hot Fudge Sauce

Recipe from my Mom's recipe box. Delicious!

1/2 cup butter
2 oz. bitter chocolate
2 cups powdered sugar
1 small can evaporated milk (5.5 oz.)
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter and chocolate in a double boiler. Add powdered sugar and work into a smooth aste. Add evaporate milk and cook for 10 minutes. Stir constantly. Add salt and vanilla.

Serve hot over ice cream or cake.
